Quality Assurance Engineer II
Salary Grade: 29
Classification/FLSA: Full Time, Exempt
Reports to: Manager of QA
General Purpose Of Job:
The primary purpose of the Quality Assurance Engineer II is to ensure the system meets the agreed upon requirements of the end-users and to produce a high-quality, fully-functional and user-friendly applications. The Quality Assurance Engineer II performs the total scope of engineering responsibilities listed for level I & II.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities:
Level I:
- Develops test cases according to the specifications for all testing phases
- Executes test cases and records results for testing assignments
- Verifies software and applications are coded according to the specifications for basic product assignments
- Develops and reviews technical documentation, help files and other product materials
- Meets deadlines for assigned tasks and scheduled deliverables
- Tests software, system integration, installation procedures, documentation and other product components
- Tests to ensure that software and documentation follow TeleTracking Technologies design and style guidelines
- Generates defect reports, enhancement requests, documentation requests and other reports
- Retests fixes from Development Team
- Manages submitted defect and enhancement requests
- Manages submitted documentation change requests
- Suggests QA process improvements
- Accomplishes duties with general supervision, works independently in accordance with QA procedures and methodologies
1. Participates in the product feature and requirements process for more complex product testing assignments
2. Participates in the software and documentation design process
3. Develops test cases and documentation plans and conducts reviews
4. Develops test plans with guidance and supervision
5. Works with one or more major TeleTracking Solutions exercising strong product understanding including uses and functions.
6. Reviews QA estimates for project plan
7. Suggests and assists with implementing QA process improvements
8. May act as QA Lead with close supervision and direction
Education:
Level II: BS/BA in computer information technology, computer science, management systems or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
Level II: 3 or more years of QA engineer experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Automation /performance tools experience a plus.

Level I:
- Demonstrated ability diagnosing issues with one major TeleTracking solution and a strong understanding of its uses and functions.
- Broad understanding of software engineering methodologies including analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation.
- Basic understanding of N-tier software architectures, database technologies, and cross-platform development techniques.
- Basic understanding of quality assurance best practices and methodologies with the ability to put basics into practice.
- Ability to complete tasks with little supervision and direction.
- Ability to produce a quality product through solid and proven QA practices.
Level II:
1. Level I skills
2. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously across projects.
3. Mid Level understanding of software quality assurance and software documentation techniques.
4. Mid Level understanding of N-tier software architectures, database technologies, and cross-platform development techniques.
5. Strong background with one or more of the following: PDA testing, SQL Server Databases, and/or Web application testing.
6. Knowledge of Healthcare interface transactions a plus.
7. Strong troubleshooting skills.
8. Thorough understanding of quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
9. Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision or direction.
Level I: None
Level II: CQE or QPA or CQM a plus
