TELETRACKING TECHNOLOGIES ADDS RTLS FOR FULLY AUTOMATIC PATIENT FLOW AUTOMATION
Industry leader acquires RadarFind’s unique non-disruptive technology
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 18, 2009 – Market leader TeleTracking Technologies, Inc. has acquired Real Time Location System (RTLS) company RadarFind to deliver a truly automatic, enterprise-wide patient flow system to the U.S. hospital market.
“As the pioneer of patient flow automation”, said TeleTracking CEO Anthony Sanzo, “its been our mission to continually improve upon our time tested, proven approach to manage real-time patient flow actions helping clients provide more timely care and reduce wait times.”
“Engineering progress and new technologies, especially like that of RadarFind, now allow us to confidently incorporate RTLS for more precise tracking visibility of patients and beds on our enterprise-class platform, TeleTracking XT™.
To improve the numerous aspects of the complex patient flow continuum, hospitals need to discharge patients in a timely manner, turn over rooms efficiently, move patients comfortably and safely, and place the patient in the most clinically appropriate bed. This requires accurate, real-time information. RadarFind provides an “absolute real-time,” affordable, non-disruptive, enterprise-wide way to pin point patients, staff and expensive equipment. RadarFind’s real-time location technology, combined with TeleTracking’s flow automation software, will greatly enhance the process.
“The position our intelligent Interactive Voice Response (IVR™) technology once owned in the marketplace,” Sanzo said, “will now be enhanced to automatically track patients through the milestones of a clinical procedure, trigger a bed clean or completion, show immediate patient transport progress, or make a bed request for a patient coming into the recovery area.”
With 800 plus clients covering virtually every major U.S. city, TeleTracking now can deliver these real-time capabilities to the largest single share of the American hospital market to help them put the right patient in the right bed with the right equipment and right staff for the right reason.
“The value of tracking and managing costly assets with RTLS technology has already been shown to provide a significant cost savings for many hospitals,” stated Sanzo, “Now, with the RadarFind technology, it adds the ability of automatically triggering patient flow transactions. Transparently communicating information such as a bedded patient, a pending transfer or discharge, a patient’s location, or the start and stop of bed turnover or patient transportation, is a truly unique way to cut unnecessary time out of the patient flow continuum.
RadarFind’s CTO, Steve Jackson, agrees. “We’re excited about this opportunity to join TeleTracking, the hands down leader in patient flow automation. We’ve become experts at tracking patients, staff and equipment, and to join the experts on the patient flow automation side is a great fit.”
TeleTracking will quickly begin to develop integration points with the RadarFind technologies. However, it continues its commitment to work with any RTLS vendor that a hospital may already have implemented, or is considering implementing.
