New Cross Hospital, part of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, began using tracking technology to improve infection control and reduce risk of healthcare associated infections.
It introduced the TeleTracking real time location technology to monitor compliance with hand-washing, but has since found the type and level of data generated has other significant benefits.
In its first nine months, the trust badged nearly 4,000 members of staff, virtually all inpatients, and more than 1,200 assets.
