For two days at the end of June, 1,200 individuals from all backgrounds and professions came together, with the support of founding sponsor TeleTracking and presenting sponsors UPMC, UPMC Health Plan and PNC, to serve at the Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh free dental clinic.
The need for this type of care is tremendous and so many volunteers took extra shifts, standing for long hours without a break, to help some of the most vulnerable members of our community and treat them with dignity and respect. The numbers are in, detailing that by the close of our second day, we provided 4,483 procedures to 1,100 patients, relieving their pain and increasing their confidence.
At a time when so much seems to divide us, the compassion, fortitude and kindness demonstrated by our volunteers was a reminder of the tremendous good we as a community can accomplish when we come together under a single purpose.

Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh is a free, two-day dental clinic for under-served people living in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, many of whom are from working families who do not have access to dental work or cannot afford dental insurance. ALL services are provided FREE of charge by local dental professionals, assisted by a host of volunteers.
We will provide dentistry to hundreds of patients in the greater Pittsburgh area. This two-day clinic will utilize a team of dedicated volunteers, both clinical and non-clinical, to make this event happen. Stay tuned for 2019 dates and location. Treatments offered will include: diagnosis by a dentist, minor restorative fillings, extractions, and cleanings. Additionally, we will connect patients to the agencies that are available for further treatment in our community and educate them on the importance of good oral health.
